2011 Junior A Hurling Final

Our junior hurling team had a great win  over Bray Emmets in the final of the 2011 Junior A Hurling Championship in Blessington on Sunday, the final score 1-8 to 1-2. After leading at half-time 0-6 to 1-1 a second half goal by veteran Christy O’Toole paved the way to victory. 

With great display's from goalkeeper Padraig Keogh and corner back Peter Coney Byrne added to  four points by youngster Ronan Byrne the victory was secured and the cup was heading back to the two villages of Kiltegan and Rathdangan for the first time since 2006.

The celebrations started in Katie Lowes and then moved to Juniors in Rathdangan where the cup was filled many times and a meal was provided for all the team and members present. Club Chairman Pat Keogh and Secretary Colm Doyle addressed the large gathering on the importance of this great win and their hopes for hurling in the club for the year ahead.  

Again well done to all especially team manager Kieran O’Keefe and his back room team of Ray Kelly and Christina.
